A few weeks ago someone mentioned that I should start a music blog….Since that time I thought a lot about that idea. It wasn’t a bad idea at all but why should I start a blog? I’ve asked myself that question numerous times the past few weeks. There will probably be only a few people who read this, why spend much time on writing a blog? And where do I start? What is it that I want to share? Well, it’s my everlasting love for music and never stopping urge to share music with other people. My love for music started at a very young age. My earliest memories go back to when I was about 8. I was totally in love with the Rupert the frog song by Paul McCarthney. I just loved that song and I couldn’t stop watching that video. And I remember that my parents listened to Abba a lot… I loved Abba when I was a kid. And everytime when I hear Abba, it brings back childhood memories. That’s where it all started.

At the age of 15 I saved enough money to buy my first stereo with a cd player… I still remember how happy I was! Immediately I also bought my first CD, Rattle and Hum by U2. I remember that I worked after school and in the weekends only to be able to buy music and to go out of course.

When I was a bit older I started going to concerts and later I went to Pinkpop for the first time. A day I will never forget! Radiohead, Chemical Brothers, K’s Choice, Skunk Anansie, Bush, Underworld, The Prodigy, Alanis Morissette, Therapy?, Dog Eat Dog….
That was the start of going to gigs and festivals more often and buy even more music than I already did.

And here I am, it’s 2012 and my love for music has grown over the years. I think it’s not overdone to say that I am a musicjunkie and I like to share music with other people. This is one of the reasons to start this blog. But there are more reasons. First is that I like to write, second is that I really can be affected by songs, so for me this blog will also be a way to express why songs affect me.

Well, here’s the start of this blog. All I need to do is find out how exactly things work :-) . Hope to post more soon.
