Recently a friend sent me two videos. I watched them and I think everyone should. Just to remember a few things:

Judging, insinuating, assuming… people focussing on others instead of themselves.
I’m constantly seeing it happen and all it brings is a whole lot of negativity.
A lot of people just seem to forget that in life you receive what you give.
If you give love, you will get love
If you cherish others, then others will cherish you
If you help others, then others will help you
If you care about others, then others will care about you
It’s really that simple.

Here’s a quote by Marvin J. Ashton. This quote says it all:
“Perhaps the greatest charity comes when we are kind to each other, when we don’t judge or categorize someone else, when we simply give each other the benefit of the doubt or remain quiet. Charity is accepting someone’s differences, weaknesses and shortcomings; having patience with someone who has let us down; or resisting the impuls to become offended when someone doesn’t handle something the way we might have hoped. Charity is refusing to take advantage of another’s weakness and being willing to forgive someone who has hurt us. Charity is expecting the best of each other.

Non of us need one more person bashing or pointing out where we have failed or fallen short. Most of us are already aware of the areas in which we are weak. What each of us does need is family, friends, employers, brothers and sisters who support us, who have the patience to teach us, who believe in us and who believe we’re trying to do the best we can, in spite of our weaknesses. What ever happened to giving each other the benefit of the doubt? What ever happened to hoping that another person would succeed or achieve? What ever happened to rooting for each other?”

Live and let live, don’t judge…you never know what kind of battle someone’s fighting. There’s a story behind every person, a reason why people are the way they are…
Be kind…care about people around you….minor actions can have a huge impact.
Even if you feel you aren’t doing much…remember that the smallest act of kindness can make a huge difference in someone’s life.

A similar thing happened to me recently…someone who offered a helping hand and someone who sent a message… People who care, people who saw the struggle and reached out. It was the helping hand and just one sentence that turned things around for me…

Small gestures….great impact!

I’m flying…
Flying in darkness
Surrounded by clouds
Thick clouds of mist

Flying in circles
No start and no end
Don’t know where I’m going
Don’t know where I am

Away from everything
Away from myself
Flying with broken wings

Seeing, but blinded
Searching, but aimless
Hearing, but not listening
Positive, but depressed

Screaming without sound
Crying without tears
Desperate and exhausted
Living in hope and fear

I’m flying…
Flying away…out of sight
But you called out my name, saying:
“Take my hand and hold it tight”

You sensed the struggle
You grabbed my hand
You let me know you’re there
To help me find a place to land

Suddenly it’s there
Out of the blue
A message from a friend
Encouraging words and so true

It moves me to tears
I’m taking it all in
One sentence gets my attention
And the changing begins

One sentence, just a few words
Bit by bit it all becomes clear
Just a few words opening the circle
and the mist disappears

Bits and pieces
Falling into place
The path is vague
But there’s a clear trace

Fear changes into hope
Hope that insecurities will fade
Hope that my destination
soon will be unveiled

The message
The helping hand
The circle has opened
I found a place to land

No blog without a song…

Just be kind and caring towards other people…reach out and you will get something beautiful in return…
